I still get questions from CEOs and CIOs about aligning technology with the business strategy. The answer is probably quite different from what you are thinking.
I am often surprised when CEOs and CIOs ask about how to get technology, or IT, aligned with the business. I’m speaking, once again, on this topic at the TribalNet 2021 conference this week.
I’ll write more about this in upcoming articles but, for now, let’s simply say that alignment results from creating measurable value. Value creation earns IT trust, credibility, and respect from the rest of the business. Then, the door opens to embed technology in the business strategy and, eventually, IT can play a transformational role.
In the coming weeks, I’ll write about:
- Signs of misalignment and root causes
- The IT Value Journey TM
- The IT Value Creation Process TM
- Embedding technology in the enterprise strategy
These articles can set business leadership and IT on a path to leverage technology in a way that creates a competitive advantage for the company.
These articles are purposefully brief and aim to provide high level guidance and trigger ideas. As always, if you want more information or don’t want to wait for all the upcoming articles, email Emily Ford at Emily@WolffStrategy.com and she’ll set up a complimentary 30-minute consultation with me.
