I still get questions from CEOs and CIOs about aligning technology with the business strategy. The answer is probably quite different from what you are thinking.
Alignment
I am often surprised when CEOs and CIOs ask about how to get technology, or IT, aligned with the business. I’m speaking, once again, on this topic at the TribalNet 2021 conference this week.
I’ll write more about this in upcoming articles but, for now, let’s simply say that alignment results from creating measurable value. Value creation earns IT trust, credibility, and respect from the rest of the business. Then, the door opens to embed technology in the business strategy and, eventually, IT can play a transformational role.
